This means you will be tasked with assessing and interpreting member needs and identifying solutions that will help our members live healthier lives. Work schedule will be Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time Zone.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serves and a Leader/Mentor; acts as a resource for others with less experience and provides coaching and mentoring to staff members as needed
• Precept New/Existing Employees
• Actively participates in workgroups and initiatives
• Complete team specific reporting
• Consult with the Medical Director as needed for complex cases
• Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
• Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues; solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
• Performs complex conceptual analyses
• Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
• Forecasts and plans resource requirements
• Authorizes deviations from standards
• May lead functional or segment teams or projects
• Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues
• Motivates and inspires other team members
• Monthly team audits and coaching
• Assist with team meetings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent 
• Current, unrestricted compact RN license in state of residence
• 3+ years total RN experience including recent clinical experience in an inpatient/acute setting
• 2+ years of UM/UR experience required including experience performing admission and continued inpatient stay reviews using Interqual criteria
• Demonstrate a proficiency in computer skills – Windows, IM, Excel (Microsoft Suite), Outlook, clinical platforms
• Designated work space and access to install secure high speed internet via cable/DSL in home

  

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN degree
• RN license in Hawaii
• 2+ years of experience as a Charge Nurse, SME, Team Lead or other lead type role
• Experience in discharge planning and/or chart review
• Experience with utilization review for an insurance company or in a managed care environment

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
